It’s National “Bring A Poem to Work Day!“

Y’all Poems best‘a behave yo’selves today!

Y’all better not be embarrassin’ me in front of my co-workers!

And don’t be sayin’ nothin’ lessin’ they wanna hear from you

You know how most people is … swearin’ that Poetry ain’t

legitimate and that y’all ain’t got no Daddy, or leastways,

y’all Poems got different Daddies!

So act like y’all Poems got some Home Training!

You know how my co-workers likes to talk ‘hind my back

Don’t be givin’ them no added reason

Poemquan, Poemquan, leave that alone! Is it yours? No! So,

leave it alone then. As a matter of fact, sit your little

narrow Poem butt down. You want ‘Pop Pop’ on them legs?

I swear, I will be glad when this “Bring a Poem to Work

Day” is over!

Look like Miss Bessie Mae got her grandbabies

dressed up in they finest today

Let them pass now

Don’t mess wit‘em

Them babies gone ta church, Praise the Lord! …
